　　《十分钟，年华老去》由英国“10分钟，年华老去”有限公司斥资上亿元人民币拍摄，原本邀请了15位世界大师级导演，旨在展示当代世界电影的最高艺术水准，15位导演各拍10分钟，串成一部150分钟的电影。每位导演在10分钟内所选择的主题和题材不拘一格。他们分别是中国著名导演陈凯歌、王家卫，法国“新浪潮”电影的代表人物戈达尔、美国黑人先锋导演斯派克·李、以《末代皇帝》一片获第60届奥斯卡最佳导演奖的意大利名导贝尔纳多·贝托鲁奇、德国幻想电影导演维尔纳·赫若格、法国凯撒奖最佳导演贝特赫塔维涅以及伊朗导演阿巴斯、芬兰导演阿基·考里斯马基、西班牙导演维克多·埃利斯、德国导演维姆·文德斯、捷克导演杰西·米切尔、美国导演吉姆·贾莫什、米克·费格斯和法国导演贾克·希维特。

　　最后的完成片，只有11位导演的作品，原来打算的150分钟缩减为110分钟，并被分成上下两篇，陈凯歌的作品《百花深处》因深得好评而被定为上部的压轴片。香港导演王家卫遗憾落选。

　　糨悉，陈凯歌想把自己的短篇命名为《Lost（迷失）》，但是英国制片人非常喜欢原先的名字《百花深处》的感觉和意境，而坚持要用《百花深处》这片名。据说“百花深处”也是北京一处胡同的名称。而陈凯歌片中的两位男主角分别是在《吕布与貂蝉》扮演重要角色的耿乐和冯远征。
