Toni Braxton 首张同名专辑推出后销量超过 700 万张，而且为她赢得了 3 座葛莱美奖、3项美国音乐奖和 2 项灵魂列车音乐奖。专辑中有 5 首热门单曲全部获得金唱片，接着 Babyface 又在获奖的电影原声专辑《Waiting To Exhale》中启用 Braxton 演绎的歌曲“Let It Flow”。

第二张专辑《Secrets》历经 18 个月的制作，Braxton 的造型更加高贵、性感。歌曲“You're Makin' Me High”赢得 1996 年度 Billboard最佳 R＆B单曲奖，唱词颇耐人寻味。她也进一步参与到音乐的创作和制作中。《Secrets》很快便成为另一张超百万销量的唱片。
