I don't believe this movie to be as bad as people say. Obviously Madonna and Sean Penn were going thru a love romance during that time kind of like Ben Afflack and JLO in our time. There has been great success of vocolists making movies, from Cher to Madonna to JLO and even Britney Spears. There is also a lot of vocolists that somewhere or another take off all their clothes. Madonna is no exception to any of this.
I personally love Madonna, I think she is an absolute genius. She's beautiful, she makes good music and she is one of very few musicians that have starred in multiple movies throughout the decades.
Wheather you like Madonna or not, I still think this is an alright film, I think its a perfect film for her at that time in her life. I was surprised however that there wasn't major nudity on her part, usually she appears nude in either magazines or her movies. But non the less she's great in this.
