I watched this drama last week ad found it to be very enjoyable. I was a big fan of Angus Deayton on Have I got News for You and was interested to see how he would do in his first proper leading role.
I must say he did better than many expected. His character was prob not a million miles from what he has experienced in his own life and I thought his dryness worked well.
Simone Labhib was as usual gorgeous and more than competent in her roll.
I think that the true star of the show was the scenery and locations, I understand that this was filmed on the Island of Skye. I think that it could have been used as an advertisement for their tourist industry. Some of the scenes in the village were breathtaking.
I believe that it was supposed to have been 25 mins longer and that the network made them remove 25 mins at the last minute. I have now bought the full length DVD and it is a far better and more rounded story.
In short I think watch this for what it is, an enjoyable drama in beautiful surroundings
