In this tussle, the destiny of Hindustan trembled, and the future of the country was imperiled. On one side was an emperor's responsibility towards an ever-growing empire, his plans, his problems and his political complications. On the other side were perfumed silken tresses kissing the broad shoulders of a prince in love.

美通社-紐約電：孟萊塢 (Bollywood) 影片風潮正席卷美國，而45年前率先掀起這場風潮的影片再度出現而且更勝以往。印度歷來最著名的電影《MUGHAL-E-AZAM》(The Great Mughal) 已實現完美的彩色還原，並將於4月1日在美國32家影院上映，4月15日將在另外30家影院放映。

3月30日，150多名愛好者與南亞電影界名人共同欣賞了紐約 ImaginAsian 影院展開的《Mughal-E-Azam》首映。這部史詩式的愛情故事以鮮明色彩和6.1數碼環繞聲逼真在現，開創了影院放映彩色化懷舊電影的首例。

ImaginAsian 負責影院業務和收購的主管 Rohi Mirza Pandya 表示：“這部電影是印度所有影院公認的佳作之一。它也是類似《賓虛》(Benhur) 和《亂世佳人》(Gone with the Wind) 的好萊塢大片之一。最終，這部電影能夠像其製作者一直所期望的那樣採用逼真色彩和新的全熒幕格式放映。” 該電影花費兩年時間、耗資100多萬美元並採用定制的印度彩色化技術進行了全面還原。所有工作都在該電影的原制作者 Sterling Investments 的悉心指導下完成。

這部在當時和現在均耗資巨大的印度電影從制作到完成共歷時9年（1951年至1960年）。1957年，彩色技術進入印度。主管 K. Asif 利用彩色技術拍攝了一部分內容。由於成效驚人，他希望將整部電影重新拍攝，但受到了時間問題的限制。該電影於1960年上映，85%的內容採用黑白放映，15%為彩色。
