Border War is a very interesting documentary that looks at the hot button issue of Illegal Immigration from the perspectives of Border Officer Jose Luis Maheda, Terri March (wife of slain Los Angeles Police Officer David March), Lupe Moreno (a Latina Minutewoman) and Enrique Morones a human rights defender who aids people crossing the border so that they don't get lost or die. All of these people's stories are intertwined to great effect. I say that because it's hard not to empathize with all of these people. How can we deny people the right to come to America to make a better life for their families? However, many immigrants (like my grandparents) do it legally, and as such don't put such a burden on our health and welfare systems. But..., many of these people pay taxes and put money into Social Security that they will never touch. At the the same time, you have people like Lupe Moreno who suffered greatly at the hands of immigrants that her father housed when she was a young girl...

That is how this documentary works. It presents all of these people's stories in a way that is easy to follow and understand. Unfortunately, I don't think that it offers up a solid plan for solving this problem, but at the same time, it does mention the fact that money talks and that is what is effecting both sides of this debate.
