◎简　　介　

民初山东大旱，马永贞和哥哥马永祥来上海做苦力，因武功高强，被谭四赏识。谭四将一壶春歌厅交给他打理，马永贞与歌女金铃子相恋。金铃子却被鸨母艳阳天逼走。艳阳天怂恿马永贞去夺地盘，自己当老板。谭四的对头杨双与巡捕房勾结，袭击谭马二人。马假装为谭送殡，合力歼灭杨双，但谭不幸身亡。马与金返回山东，退出江湖。

幕后制作：
六十年代张徹的武侠片《马永贞》曾经疯靡一时，今日电影人勇于翻拍这部电影，诚意可嘉。可惜导演没有多少创新，本片是向旧版《马永贞》的致敬之作，导演手法传统老派，加入了张徹作品忽略的女性角色，还是有怀旧特色。主题曲是梅艳芳的《抱紧前人》，暗示了苟安自保成为后资本主义香港社会的集体无意识。元奎为香港于占元武师教出的七小福之一，对武打十分在行，但是他的导演名气远远大于他作为武打演员的名气。本片是标准的武打片，导演驾轻就熟，功力显示，可惜的是评论还好叫座不行。
