Usually situated in the rough part of town, the grindhouses were American cinemas devoted to catering for the more extreme taste, projecting biker flicks, revenge thrillers, martial arts movies and blood-soaked gore epics, to patrons sat wide-eyed in the dark. Grindhouse cinema would later become a major influence on filmmakers such as Rob Zombie and Eli Roth, and is the inspiration for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's film, the imaginatively titled GRINDHOUSE - an ode to these lurid exploitation flicks. Now, for the first time, you can relive this provocative and sensational era with a collection of trailers that encapsulate the essence of all that was great about the grindhouses, without having to cross the wrong side of the tracks.

[Notes]

First off, this isn't a film.. It's a collection trailers from 70s
grindhouse films (as noted above if you read it). This dvd came our way
and we had a watch and found it pretty funny (read: tits & gore) so
chose to release it.

Quite difficult to tag this one well, so we've opted for a readnfo.
DVD is 2007, the trailers are 70s and there's no imdb entry so we've left
year out of the tag. I guess it's STV, but as it's not an actual movie we've
left this out of the tag as well.

The AR of the trailers themselfs differ throughout the video (source PAR is 16:9)
and have different borders for each, some are 2.35 also. We've cropped it such that
the majority of the trailers are not over or undercropped. Consequently, however,
some of them are overcropped, others undercropped and the 2.35 AR ones have borders
top&bottom. We feel we have found a good middle ground with the cropping.

The audio on some of them is mono, on others stereo, so we have just included the
original AC3 as the video bitrate easily allows for it.

Some of the clips may of normally required ivtc, but as avi does not support variable fps,
this is not possible and we have left it as is.
