Actress turned filmmaker Pooja Bhatt is directing a film based on custodial deaths in Jammu and Kashmir. The film will be produced by her uncle Mukesh Bhatt. It will be her third film as a director after Paap (2004) and Holiday (2006).

Talking about his daughter's new film, Mahesh Bhatt, who has also written the film, says, "Today our nation has not confronted the truth of the menace of custodial deaths and misdeeds of the police force. It is not confined to any one state, it is happening in many states all over India. Dhoka is going to be an attempt to make people wake up to this reality."

All of Pooja's films have seen a new actress debuting with it. Paap had Udita Goswami making her foray from modeling to acting and Holiday launched newcomer Onjolee Nair. So who is it going to be this time? "No actress has been finalised as of yet but we have signed a new boy. Kashmiri model turned actor Muzammil Ibrahim (seen in Pardesia Remix Video with Rakhi Sawant) will be launched in Dhoka."
