《City Of God》在2002年的放映，引起了人们对巴西的再次关注，他将巴西最真实、最具代表性的一面，利用独到的叙事方式展现在了全世界面前。影片的成功并没有满足制作团队想要得到的全部，他们紧接着又拍摄了一部系列电视电影《Cidade dos Homens》美国译名为City of Men。在电视剧中他们以两名生活在巴西的年轻人Acerola和Laranjinha为主角，记录着他们的平常却不平凡的生活。导演也在剧集中融入了更多在City Of God中未能使用到的新奇拍摄手法。
就在明年的1月18日即将上映又一个电影版本的《City of Men》，在预告片中，我发现演员还是Fernando Meirelles和Paulo Morelli，创作放还是原班人马。可片中所出现的镜头却和电视版有了区别，现在还没有更多的消息，不过据我的猜想，这个电影的版本，应该是一个继续或者穿插在原来电视剧版本中的故事，不过这个故事，会相对独立也会相对长一些。另一种可能就是电视剧的精编翻拍版，但这种可能性不大。
