　　故事跟随着一个事业有成的艺术家的回忆展开。那是1974年的夏天，18岁的艺术系男孩邂逅了一位比自己年长的艺术家。艺术家因为酗酒不仅对自己的工作漫不经心，对生活也失去了兴趣。男孩自己也有着烦心事，但还是试图探寻艺术家的心理，希望后者能振作起来。通过一段时间的相处，男孩的友善，让艺术家重新树立了生活的信心。艺术家的指点，也让男孩的世界观更加成熟。两个人的人生终于通过对方而变得圆满。
