On May 2, 1946, six Alcatraz inmates staged a prison mutiny, capturing the cell house and seizing the attention of the county. David Carradine (Kill Bill, Kung Fu), Dennis Farina (Saving Private Ryan, Snatch), and David Morse (The Green Mile, Twelve Monkeys) star in this dramatization of their incredible battle against impossible odds.

Known as Hellcatraz by its prisoners, the maximum security island prison saw eight escape attempts while in operation. By far, the most dramatic breakout was the daring 1946 attempt. Filmed on location at "The Rock," the film's ensemble cast also includes Howard Hesseman (About Schmidt) and Jan Michael Vincent (Buffalo '66).
