古龙笔下人物共冶一炉 看谁山庄之内鬼哭神号!
八十年代初港、台掀起一股楚留香热潮，楚原导演继卖座电影《楚留香》后，再接再厉执导本片。剧情讲述楚留香(狄龙 饰)与八王爷(井淼 饰)订下计策，假借楚暗杀王爷不遂而逃亡入「幽灵山庄」，权充内应，以图一举消灭此罪恶山庄。「幽灵山庄」所住者皆为江湖中罪恶满盈之徒，庄内更有真鬼出现，气氛诡异，楚留香一步步堕入一连串悬疑事件当中……

1970年代中期，有个出名的新派武侠片「铁三角」，即是指「楚原．古龙．狄龙」。楚原是将古龙的武侠小说搬上银幕最多的导演，狄龙则是主演楚原影片最多的男星，如《楚留香》系列等电影。自1976年起，他把古龙的小说，几乎拍了一大半。如《楚留香》、《天涯．明月．刀》、《绝代双骄》、《白玉 老 虎》、《三少爷的剑》、《圆月弯刀》等，大概拍了二十几部古龙的小说。
古龙小说为楚原电影，也为整个武侠电影打开一扇新的大门。此後楚原对自己奇情风格才较为注重，自觉地将唯美情趣与文艺气氛溶入其中，逐渐成为较瑰丽，也较统一的电影风格。楚原将「中式浪漫」与「西式推理」熔于一炉，自创「楚派武侠片」，以「楚原．古龙．狄龙」这个铁三角组合一口气推出了《楚留香》系列电影，顿时轰动武林，引领一时风骚。
