There are various symptoms of stress -- some are physical,
or emotional, or some may become apparent from changes in
your behavior such as those listed below.
・ back, shoulder or neck pain(嗯)
・ sleep disturbance(嗯)
・ difficulty waking up in the morning(嗯)
・ severe headaches
・ problem remembering things(嗯)
・ worrying about things that never bothered you before
・ lack of motivation or willingness(嗯)
・ isolation from social activities
・ increased arguments
・ drinking too much
These are all possible sings of stress.
Do you often experience any of these symptoms when you are stressed out?
There are always sources of stress in our daily lives, the weather
may have you down, you may be experiencing problems that affect you or your family, changes in your life, and so on. We try to cope with them as much as possible and maintain some sense of balance in our lives by doing something that will refresh ourselves, relaxing, eating good-tasting foods, talking to others about our problems, or exercising.
When you recognize your symptoms and try to deal with them,
you are practicing self-care. It is one of the major ways to deal with stress.
As long as you recognize the signs of stress and keep it under control with effective self-care, you are leading a normal life,
even though you may feel depressed or frustrated from time to time. However, if you are aware of your symptoms but don't recognize it as signs of stress, or don't do anything about it, the signs will possibly intensify or multiply.
They may develop into physical or mental ailments. Once that happens, it will take some time to restore your original health.
What's important is to know yourself and recognize the symptoms.
This is the first step of self-care.
Try to use every resource available including yourself
in order to keep your stress under control.
The more access you have to such resources, the better off you will be.
