◎简　　介　

John Denver was, and is, one of the finest, most important, most
    widely-influencial singer-songwriters to ever pick up a guitar.
    John was blessed with a tremendously creative spirit, along with
    wonderful musical talents, but seems to have also been cursed
    with a burdensome melancholy side to his personality as well.
    This propensity for melancholia & depression certainly aided John
    in his composing at times, thereby giving him a creative outlet
    for much of his pain, but also caused John to seek escape and
    relief from more ultimately destructive sources such as drink &
    drug. In any case, John Denver's genius and musical gifts to the
    world are without question. This film allows John, as both an
    artist and a person, to share some of his music, along with some
    of the inspirations behind it, with the audience in a very
    personal way.

    John speaks to us from a secluded hilltop area in the Rocky
    Mountain area of Colorado. John moved to this area of the country
    when he was 27 years old, and immediately fell in love with it.
    The Colorado country and environment served as inspriation for
    many of John's songs, and his love for the area comes through in
    his music very clearly.

    Absent from this disc are a lot of overwhelming, distracting, and
    ultimately unnecessary graphic visual audio effects. Denver's
    story and music are allowed to enjoy the spotlight in this film,
    which helps to give the movie the proper perspective, and helps
    it to achieve its goal, which is to famililarize the view with
    Denver, his life, and his music. The film is presented in a very
    simple, yet attractive style, alternating from audio tracks of
    John's songs, backed with selected video footage, to John himself
    in the Colorado mountain setting, speaking to the viewer,
    introducing and explaining the next musical selection to be
    played.
   
    The world really owes a huge debt of gratitude to John Denver for
    the music he gave us. Unfortunately, Fate saw fit to take John
    from us in a timeframe that many might see as very premature.
    Although his life might have been cut somewhat short, he
    certainly enjoyed a very rich and full life. We should be happy
    for John that he seems to have been able to conquer his more
    troublesome and painful personal demons during the last years of
    his life, and that both his personal and professional lives
    enjoyed renewal and revival in his latter days. This film is a
    great way to become acquainted with John, his life, his stories,
    and his music. Definitely worth a watch by any serious fan of
    music.
