幕后制作：关于导演

本片导演史蒂芬·弗莱尔斯也非池中之物，早在上世纪八十年代，他就凭借敏锐的视觉意识和引人入胜的叙事能力晋升为英国一流导演。由于他本人非常爱好表演，早年还在伦敦的皇家宫廷剧院参与舞台剧演出，所以他的影片最大的特点就是表演细腻、对白诙谐幽默，并具有一种强大的真实感和吸引力。在他的导演生涯中，多次获得英国电影电视艺术学院奖，家中的橱柜上还放着凭借《危险关系》赢来的法国恺撒奖、和凭借《非恋不可》获得的柏林电影节最佳导演银熊奖。因此，他执导《女王》，令人信心十足。

关于演员

要扮演伊丽莎白女王、英国首相这样位高权重的人物，选择演员是至关重要的。本片的“女王大人”，正是英国家喻户晓的海伦·米伦。她上一次扮演贵族的经历，是在《疯狂乔治王》中扮演乔治三世忠心耿耿的皇后。这个角色让她获得了戛纳电影节最佳女演员和奥斯卡最佳女主角的提名。之后依靠在罗伯特·奥尔特曼执导的影片《高斯福特庄园》中扮演的角色，米伦第二次获得了奥斯卡提名。2003年的《日历女郎》让米伦红遍了欧美大陆。

关于影片

已往的传记电影总是纪念一些已经远去的名人，而本片的两位主人公都舒舒服服地过着他们的好日子。伊丽莎白女王前几个月刚度过了她的八十大寿，布莱尔依旧为国事忙得不可开交。史蒂芬·弗莱尔斯之所以会选择这个题材，是因为伊丽莎白女王非常注重隐私，从不接受任何媒体的专访。人民不了解这位他们敬爱的女王，尤其在1997年黛安娜王妃事件后，她表现出的疏远更是让人不能理解。还原这一特定时期的环境下女王的生活和困扰，是一件非常有意义的事。
