巴勒斯坦寡婦薩瑪，正和她的新鄰居—以色列國防部長對抗。這場國界之戰，起因於國防部長的新家在薩瑪的檸檬園對面，而檸檬園的邊界就在以色列和約旦河西岸（1967年被以色列佔領的巴勒斯坦領土）之間。

然而以色列國防部長才剛搬來，薩瑪就收到檸檬園將被剷平的通知，因為情報局認為恐怖份子會躲在樹中發動攻擊，以色列安全管理機構聲稱「檸檬樹對國防部長將造成嚴重威脅！」，於是要求薩瑪必須把樹鋸掉。

無論如何都要守護父親留下的檸檬園，只好和以色列當局展開訴訟對抗，此舉不但引起國際媒體攪局，還和年輕律師發展出曖昧情愫…。一番抗爭下來，國防部長夫人也被喧鬧不已的場面給吸引，並且加入協調的行列，在好奇與溝通中，兩個天差地別的女人發展出一股看不見的團結力量。一場檸檬樹與國界之戰，最後誰能勝出？薩瑪終能成功挽回記憶中童年的味道嗎？

這是一個關於「守護」的故事，混合幽默、荒謬、悲劇、喜劇，藉由薩瑪為她的樹和人生奮戰的過程，看到人們如何保護屬於自己的東西。這也是一個關於「寂寞」的故事，女人如何互相扶持、勇敢走出自我。真人實事感動改編，柔性處理以巴民族問題，是2008年以色列最精彩的電影。

這部精彩有趣、充滿黑色幽默，根據真人真事改編的中東超現實混亂喜劇，由以色列導演伊安瑞克利斯(Eran Riklis)執導，柏林影展「電影大觀」單元觀眾票選獎，並受邀為2008台北電影節開幕片作品。

嘲坜  Salma, a Palestinian widow - living there for decades - , has to    蒇俺
