　　影片主人公是一位夜总会舞蹈员麦基，因无意中犯了罪而沦为乞丐，没想到还遇到了好心的少女，鼓励他去俱乐部演出，经过努力，麦基取得了成功。

因为无意中犯了罪，一个在夜总会表演舞蹈的演员十分恐惧，在演出结束后就逃跑了。为了不被人发现，他化名麦基，同一群乞丐混到了一起。后来，麦基经人介绍到一家低级酒吧表演，但他的表演才能引起了一个高级俱乐部经理的注意，便想同他签约，让他前去演出。可怜的麦基以为这是个圈套，不得不再次逃跑。途中，他遇到了一个叫詹尼的少女，在詹尼的鼓励下，麦基终于鼓足勇气到俱乐部进行了演出，并取得了成功。
