坜     family, led by wife Rita, furthered that vision by         蒇  
坜     traveling to Ethiopia in 2005 for a landmark concert       蒇  
坜     performance. The concert served as the starting point       蒇  
坜     for annual Africa Unite events, the next of which will       蒇  
坜     be held in Jamaica during Black History Month this         蒇  
坜     February. Palm Pictures will release the Africa Unite       蒇  
坜     DVD on Feb. 12 (prebook Jan. 15; DVD $24.98), after         蒇  
坜     the film gets a theatrical release this winter.           蒇

坜     that can be done in Africa is for Africa to unite. It       蒇  
坜     has been a dream of many of our forefathers and many       蒇  
坜     African leaders in the past梛ust like the unity of the       蒇  
坜     U.S. and Europe. But for Africa, it is even more           蒇  
坜     important, because the resources in Africa, if put to       蒇  
坜     the right use, can benefit Africa. To do this in Black       蒇  
坜     History Month is a way to shed more light on the issue.     蒇

坜     VB: When is a music DVD better than just music, and do       蒇  
坜     you enjoy DVDs yourself                            蒇

坜     Marley: DVDs are another avenue to get a message across.     蒇  
坜     Sometimes hearing is not enough, and seeing might mean       蒇  
坜     more to some people, to connect on a visual level. I       蒇  
坜     am a collector; I watch a lot of movies on the bus on       蒇  
坜     tours. I have a Bob Dylan DVD and a few more. I like       蒇  
坜     Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof; it's old school, back       蒇  
坜     to the 70s. I'm a movie connoisseur. I'm trying to get       蒇  
坜     into writing a few scripts. It's another avenue to use       蒇  
坜     creativity. In school, English language and writing         蒇  
坜     were my favorite subjects. I'm a pretty good writer.       蒇

坜     VB: Why do you think your father's music is still         蒇  
坜     popular today                                  蒇

坜     Marley: It's the substance. The artists that have         蒇  
坜     substance in their music梩he music that means more than     蒇  
坜     a fad, music that lasts longer than the time they made       蒇  
坜     it in梐re the people that last forever. It has no time       蒇  
坜     in mind, like some particular beat today. My father was     蒇  
坜     not like that. It was done on a different level, a more     蒇  
坜     spiritual level. It's music that will endure, that has       蒇  
坜     substance. That's the reason why he made it, and what       蒇  
坜     he was saying all still exists. It's deep; not shallow.     蒇
