Sorely out of time, Australian film Muggers recalls the days of 70s T&A* humour which made Oz-Anglo movies Alvin Purple, Eliza Fraser, Stork et al(and Brit TV series Doctor at Large), so popular in Australia, our sunburnt antipodean country which was at that time, still in the throes of severing its colonial ties.

Kiss or Kill's Matt Day and Titanic's Jason Barry are Brad and Gregor, broke medical students trying to repay loan shark Roy Rogers (a hammed up Chris Haywood). No prizes for guessing they steal body parts to make ends meet, while racking up romantic conquests which, seriously, could only ever be possible because it was written into the script. (In your dreams, "Brad" and "Gregor").

Mediocre beyond belief, Muggers is a bad telemovie at best, recalling the halcyon film production days of 10BA with its no-brow script and no-way no-how appeal.
