◎简　　介　

　　吉卜力工作室继2004《霍尔的移动城堡》后最新长篇动画，由宫崎骏的长子宫崎吾朗首次执导。本片改编自美国奇幻科幻作家娥苏拉．勒瑰恩（Ursula K。　Le Guin）的《地海传说（Legend of Earthsea）》系列小说。

　　从前，人跟龙是生活在同一个世界的，但是后来，人选择了大地跟海洋，留在东方的大地；龙则选择了风和火，迁居西域。　有一天，一直居住在西域的龙突然出现在东方的大地，随之而来发生的，就是各地农作物以及家畜的枯坏病死。

　　世界的均衡开始崩坏。大贤人（地海）为了要找出原因，展开了旅程。途中遇到了王子亚伦，他是一位舍弃了自己国家的王子。王子的心中一直感受到有一股黑暗的力量在操控他，而他也一直被一个不知名的黑影追逐着。两人到了首都后，发现整个城市隐藏着一股堕落且不真实的气氛。在这里，到处可以看到人口贩卖或是毒品贩卖，所有在市场上贩卖的货品都是一些使人堕落或是禁卖的商品。

　　到底为什么世界会失去平衡，又人心为什么会堕落到这种地步？地海和亚伦必须要将答案找出来，并与之战斗……

　　导演宫崎吾朗为了阐述《地海战记》的动人故事，也为了替自己与手茑葵相遇的奇迹留下证明，破例制作了以《地海战记》各个重要场景为发想的《地海战记歌集》，而宫崎吾朗在电影制作的繁忙工作中仍抽空替《地海战记歌集》的所有歌曲填词、歌集中所有的歌曲也全都由被导演称为“《地海战记》电影女神”的手茑葵来演唱。

Something bizarre has come over the land. The kingdom is deteriorating. People
are beginning to act strange... What's even more strange is that people are
beginning to see dragons, which shouldn't enter the world of humans. Due to all
these bizarre events, Ged, a wandering wizard, is investigating the cause.
During his journey, he meets Prince Arren, a young distraught teenage boy.
While Arren may look like a shy young teen, he has a severe dark side, which
grants him strength, hatred, ruthlessness and has no mercy, especially when it
comes to protecting Teru. For the witch Kumo this is a perfect opportunity. She
can use the boy's "fears" against the very one who would help him, Ged.
