Taking a big leap in his career with Banana Brothers is Girija Shankar who shot to fame as Dritharastra in B.R. Chopra's epic Mahabharata. A student of the National School of Drama Shankar was also trained in acting at the Punjab Kala Manch after few serials (Buniyaad, Mahabharata, Alif Laila) and some movies later he turns director with Banana Brothers. Different directors have tried their hand at the problems of young Indo-Americans in films like American Chai, American Desi and Where's the Party Yaar this one deals with a more mature class.
