◎简　　介　

The Killer does kill - to put it bluntly, it kills what could have been a very good attempt. The film goes on and on and suddenly ends predictably just at the point you have lost patience in expecting a twist. And it is here that debutant director duo Raksha Mistry and Hasnain S Hyderabadwala mess things up.

The duo’s take on Michael Mann’s Tom Cruise-Jammie Foxx starrer Collateral is watchable because of the witty dialogues between the male leads but immature handling of immature screenplay mars the effort.

The story is of a killer (Irrfan) who takes the help of a cabbie (Emraan Hashmi) to kill people who will testify against underworld don Jabbar. The film lacks pace and suspense. One has to understand that Hollywood films have their own audience and Hindi films have their own. One wishes the director duo had thought about it.

    Story: Some moments when lived through, will change you forever.
    Nikhil Joshi (Emraan Hashmi) is a young Indian who has gone to Dubai,
    and dreams of making it big out there. At present however, he is a
    taxi driver, and is madly in love with a bar girl Ria (Nisha Kothari).
    So smitten is he, that he is willing to do anything for his love - even
    DIE. However, life has other plans for him when one night, a suave
    businessman Vikram (Irrfan Khan), hails his cab. Joshi discovers that
    this pleasant passenger has an agenda of his own and a rather sinister
    one at that. Vikram holds Joshi hostage in a bizarre plot to bump off
    various people who would testify against the dreaded don Jabbar, who is
    at risk of being deported to India to face charges against him. As
    Nikhil helplessly becomes witness to one killing after another, he
    finds his life and dreams crumbling around him. Faced with the prospect
    of losing everything he has been working towards, he finally takes
    control of the steering wheel of his life. He stops dreaming and starts
    acting, as he begins to pit his wits against the assassin. Will Nikhil
    succeed in getting the better of The Killer or will this night force
    him to lose everything that he has - his Love and his Life?

    Release Notes: Righty o, firstly apologies for us taking our time in
    shifting this PROPER, we just wanted to make sure we got it perfect

    Secondly, applause go out to ADLABS who turned decent material into
    crap when producing this DVD. Nice work!
  
    Anyway getting back to the matter in hand. D3Si's release was of
    course nuked for "bad.ivtc". Dont worry guys, we thought this would
    be a straight forward IVTC aswell but alas it wasnt to be

    The DVD itself was produced from a PAL Master, the same kinda issue
    both ourselves & D3Si dealt with a while back on "Being Cyrus". The
    extract below is taken from the nfo for
    Being.Cyrus.2005.REAL.PROPER.DVDRip.XviD-BrG where it briefly
    elaborates on the work done on this DVD and why it is the pain in the
    arse that it is today.

    "So what was so bad about the source that our usual ways failed the
    first time and someone else attempted a PROPER but turned out to be
    flawed as well? It turns out the material was actually made from a
    PAL master (even though the source DVD we worked with was NTSC R1)
    which had underwent some brutal speedup and blendconversion. This
    resulted in a material which could neither be ivtc'd the usual way
    nor could be deinterlaced the usual way because all the traditional
    means left either jerkiness and dropped frames in panning scenes
    and/or ghosting/interlaced frames. A tough material calls for tough
    measures and that's what we ended up doing. Don't be shocked at the
    final framerate of the avi which is 25.001 fps, because that is what
    it IS."

    In addition to the above, we also felt it needed a bit of brightening
    up in places due to it being unacceptably dark in scenes. Granted that
    it's a movie which pushes out a "dark" feel, but come on, some points
    in the movie are impossible to watch as u cant see anything of the
    characters when they are speaking. Basically, it isn't how it SHOULD
    be.

    By the way the above issue isn't D3Si's fault but the source itself is
    stupidly dark in parts. We're totally bemused as to why ADLABS let
    this movie out in it's current form without any proper work done on it.
    Because in all truth...it needs it.
  
    Anyhoo, thats your lot regarding the whole PROPER malarky...About the
    movie itself, we've bundled in AC3 aswell seeing as it's another
    short Bollywood film in terms of runtime. About the story, even
    though it's a well documented Hollywood copy, it's not THAT bad at
    all. Worth a watch Oh and Irfans brilliant as ever!
