◎简　　介　

After being denied funding in his own country frustrated German
rocket scientist Zucher (Ulrich Thomsen), is delighted when the
British government offer to pay for his research. Under the
patronage of local MP Sir Wilson Ramsay (John Wood), Zucher
finally heads out to the remote Scottish community of Scarp along
with his colleague Heinz Dombrowsky (Eddie Marsan) - their
mission is to build a mail rocket to help revolutionise the
postal service between the island and its neighbouring
communities. The local reception is pointedly frosty, with bitter
memories of the First World War still fresh in people's minds.
Catherine MacKay (Shauna McDonald) the local school teacher is
more open minded about the new arrivals and convinces her uncle
and guardian, Angus MacKay (Clive Russell) to give them a place
to stay.
