导演张彻获2002年香港电影金像奖终身成就奖，一代大师地位，无人能及。《无名英雄》展现大时代小人物质处境冲突，人物卷入救国救民的革命行动，展现无限张力。

　　民国初年，军阀横行，孟刚（孟大卫），铁虎（狄龙），皆无名浪荡客，一时意气，潜入军阀阵中偷枪，与军阀展开连串斗智斗力，连场斯杀，把偷来的军火送交革命军。终成为无名英雄……此片张彻除了拍出细腻的儿女私情外更发挥大时代小人物的抛头颅，洒热血的悲情。

  编剧倪匡巧妙设计，布局精彩，由偷枪，逃走，及事败逃亡，情节一气呵成，张彻手法明快，豪情奔放，人物重情重义，看得人热血沸腾。刘家良和唐佳联合负责动作设计，火车与骑兵追逐场面，动作狂野。张彻大纹大路中，罕有地拍出细腻的儿女私情，井莉清丽面孔，令人印象难忘。

  《无名英雄》继承了动作电影大师张彻的小人物拋头颅、洒热血阳刚动作风格。民国初年，军阀横行，姜大伟演孟刚，狄龙演铁虎，皆无名浪荡客，无意中参加革命行动。刘家良和唐佳负责动作，火车与骑兵追逐场面，动作出色。
