　　雅克·梅斯林是70年代末期法国著名的大盗，曾犯下多起持械抢劫和杀人案，也是有名的越狱犯。他善于伪装自己，曾以不同的面貌混迹人群，人称“千面大盗”。他在18个月的血腥逃亡之后，1979年11月2日在巴黎克利尼扬古尔门（PORTE DE CLIGNANCOURT）被特警队击毙。本片叙述梅斯林早期的经历，从1959年阿尔及利亚战争开始，当时梅斯林在战场上服役，这段经历标志了他“天真时期的结束”，使他成为一个“无政府主义者和对现状不满的人”。影片的下集《头号公敌》（MESRINE：L’ENNEMI PUBLIC No.1）将于11月19日上映。限制级。

　　他是心狠手辣的黑帮分子、他是混迹人群的千面大盗，他被警察们称为法国的头号公敌，他的名字叫雅克·梅斯林。他有着臭名昭著的虚张声势和怦然地大胆越狱，他的存在代表了战后西方社会最极端的一种人生观。

幕后制作

　　整部作品不仅融合了诸多类型片的拍摄手法，而且秉承了美国商业片风格，节奏紧凑、枪战火爆、悬念迭起、情戏诱人，最终营造出咄咄逼人的视觉效果和气势恢宏的声色。值得一提的是，最酷的法国“痞子”文森特·卡塞尔凭借在本片中极具爆发力的演技获得了第二十一届东京电影节最佳男演员殊荣。
