好象单纯的AP不太好买，产品可选择的也少，路由倒是很多，也很便宜了。

请问可否disable 无线router的Switch功能， 把router当无线AP用. 在netgear 614的设定， 只有禁用AR的选项， 没有关闭SWITCH 的选项。
无线AP太贵了， 手头正好有一个Wireless Router。

Posts: 2346  Posted July 21, 2004 15:30     I pretty much do what you want to do with two Linksys wired routers. The first router is set up however you want it to be. Then on the second router, give it an IP not the same as the first router, disable DHCP and run a cable from one of the 4 "normal switch ports" to the port on the wireless router titled "LAN"(I think that's what it's called on my BESFR41, it's whatever the uplink port is) Both routers will have IP addresses. (They need them so you can reach them and change settings like disabling DHCP) You won't have to worry about any port forwarding/NAT stuff on the 2nd router now.

ps-- there is an actual port on my router called 'uplink' so i used that.

Posts: 423  Posted July 21, 2004 15:50     Correct. Any wireless router can be used as a dedicated AP. Bypass the WAN port, disable DHCP, and uplink a port on the switch. Just about any switch will (should anyway) have autosensing ports so there won't be an uplink port and you wouldn't need to use a crossover cable.
