This is part of a good concert by Dexter Gordon, late in his career, after he returned permanently to the US, but it wasn't recorded in San Francisco. The Maintenance Shop is at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. This was probably recorded in early 1979. As well as Green Dolphin Street, Polkadots and Moonbeams, and Tanya, the quartet of Dexter Gordon, George Cables, Rufus Reid and Eddie Gladden also recorded It's You or No One, The Panther, and Alone Together. These six tunes have been issued both in the US and Britain on two video cassettes. A good example of Dexter's permanent group from 1978 to 1979, and the only session available on video.
