The networking card I used is made by Kingston company. The model is KNE110TX/100B. I install this card onto the windows 2000, but windows picks a driver used for the a card made by the Linksys company for my card. I do not know why windows did that way. I found many home-users use networking card made by Linksys. The reasons I guess are (1) they are more cheaper than other cards, and (2) the whole systems users purchased are most likely to come with networking card made by Linksys. But the server are perfer to use cards made by Intel. It probably a card made by Intel is more stabled if it needs to run everyday without power off. I am in California, and the above is what I found here. How about China, or Asia.
Retail Price:
a Linksys card can be 10 up to 100 US dollars
the range of a Intel card is from 30 to several hundred US dollars
other brands of high quality card:
3com
IOGEAR
D-Link (cheaper)
NetGear
US Robotics
IBM
Kingston
Hope you get a NIC what you want |
