【内容简介】
Sabine, an adolescent girl with a gift for mathematics becomes involved with Jiri, a 40-something man-of-the-theatre from Prague. The story of their relationship and the gradual transformation of Sabine's life as a result of it.

讲的是一个花季少女同一个盛年男人的故事，说明他们并不是两个没有交集的集合，肯定这两个地球高级生物邂逅相遇而堕入情网的概率不为零。电影最后暗示，数学同电磁场一样，是一片美丽得动情的场!

　　电影的主人公，一位是聪明绝顶的高三女生，另一位是从东欧来到巴黎的男士。他们两个人的目光在公交车上不期而遇，于是爆发了爱情、也酝酿了故事。女孩子萨碧娜出生在双亲“下岗”而穷困潦倒的家庭。可是，女孩子却是一个数学天才。她像数学上的“奇点”一样孤芳自赏，她披着数学定理的耀眼辉光高翥云端；她从不加入同学愚蠢的“发烧友”集合、混沌团“闭包”什么的。对于数学上的方程和图像萨碧娜迎刃而解，可是现实生活里的X、无解方程，加上兜不出来的拓扑图形太多太凶太乱太狠，她无法应付。萨碧娜于是高呼：数学!数学!来救救我呀!谢谢数学、谢谢那个像渐进线一般从遥远神秘的东方翩然来临的男人，萨碧娜终于从数学里找到了能量，找到了如同双曲线飞向浩淼和空旷一样飞出家庭和困境的力量……
